The DRAGON PE 420-4 is a computer-controlled beam saw for high-volume panel sizing, specified to cut four chipboards simultaneously to a 4200 x 4200 mm cutting size. A servo-controlled cutting unit and servo-controlled side alignment system position each book of boards, eleven standard clamps hold the stack, and the saw moves under a servo pneumatic system. Cutting height is 72 mm and the cutting group returns at up to 80 m/min idle, working at up to 50 m/min.
Software and production control
The DRAGON PE 420-4 is sold as a production cell rather than a bare saw. Supplied equipment includes a computer control unit, an optimisation system that plans cutting patterns from the parts list, a barcode printer for labelling parts as they leave the saw, and a remote service connection for diagnostics. Feed speed adjusts automatically to material thickness, which keeps edge quality consistent when the shop switches between 18 mm and thicker boards during a shift.
