The HOLZMANN BBS810SMART is the large electric mill of the SMART series, built exclusively for cutting soft, hard, dry, raw or frozen timber and wooden prisms into boards and beams. With a maximum log diameter of Ø810 mm and 720 mm of opening between the blade guides, the BBS810SMART handles the oversized logs that stop a smaller mill, and its basic version already cuts 3.2 m long.
Electric drive on a fixed site
The BBS810SMART uses a 7.5 kW motor on 400V / 50 Hz, which makes it the machine to choose when the sawmill has a permanent three-phase connection. Electric drive means lower running cost per cubic metre than petrol, no exhaust in a covered shed, and no engine servicing between seasons. The trade-off is location: the BBS810SMART cannot be taken to the forest, and the petrol-driven BBS810SMART-G exists for exactly that situation.
Band, kerf and track
The BBS810SMART runs a 4015 x 34 x 1.1 mm band at 1080 m/min on Ø475 mm flywheels, cutting a kerf of just 1.5-2.2 mm so that more of each large log becomes saleable board. All timber types are cut with the same band, which avoids blade changes when the log deck holds mixed species. Track sections measure 2 m, and the cutting length of the BBS810SMART grows with each additional expanding section. Height and thickness are set manually, on a solid twist-free frame that keeps long cuts parallel.
