The long-bed HOLZMANN copy lathe

The HOLZMANN DBK1500 is the longest copy wood turning lathe in the HOLZMANN copy range, taking 1500 mm between centres and copying profiles up to 1300 mm long. Length is the reason to buy the DBK1500: stair newels, long balusters, bed posts and tall table legs that overrun the 1100 mm copy length of the DBK1300 fit the DBK1500 without splicing or repositioning. Centre height is 220 mm and copy depth is 50 mm, at a copying centre height of 65 mm.

How the copying system works

The copying attachment on the DBK1500 traces a master workpiece or a template and transfers that profile to the blank, so a full staircase set or a matching suite of legs is produced to one shape rather than turned by eye. The DBK1500 still works as a conventional lathe for one-off pieces, with an M33 headstock spindle, an MT2 tailstock and 100 mm of tailstock sleeve travel.
