The HOLZMANN HOB260ABS suits a small joinery that has floor space for one machine, not three: surface planer, thicknesser and chip extractor are combined in a single 88 kg unit measuring 1160 x 950 x 1100 mm. Stock up to 260 mm wide runs over the 1050 x 260 mm cast aluminium planing tables, and changeover to thicknessing across the 480 x 254 mm table is a quick conversion, not a rebuild. The integrated collector pulls 270 m³/h through the 75 mm port, so the HOB260ABS can be commissioned without first buying a separate extraction unit.
Light passes, from an 1800 W drive
The HOB260ABS is built for finishing passes rather than heavy stock removal. Cutting depth on the HOB260ABS is 2-3 mm per pass depending on the operation, the two-knife shaft is 55 mm in diameter and turns at 6700 rpm, and maximum workpiece thickness in the thicknesser is 160 mm. Feed through the thicknesser runs at 8.5 m/min and the infeed drive can be switched off, which lets an operator stop the feed without stopping the cutterhead. The thicknesser table sits at 925 mm, a comfortable height for a standing operator.
Fence, mobility and noise
The 643 x 126 mm aluminium fence on the HOB260ABS tilts from 90° to 45° for chamfering, and the planing tables carry noise-absorbing slots; measured sound power is 96.2 dB(A) and sound pressure 83.2 dB(A), so hearing protection is not optional. A moving device with two swivel and two fixed castors, with a lowering and lifting function, is part of the machine, so the HOB260ABS can be rolled aside when the floor is needed for assembly.
Where the HOB260ABS sits in the HOLZMANN range
Compared with the larger HOB series combination machines, the HOB260ABS trades planing width and cast-iron mass for portability and a built-in extractor. A workshop planing wider boards, or running long production batches, is better served by a dedicated thicknesser such as the DHM415 paired with a standalone ABS extractor.
