The HOLZMANN KAM35SMART is the KAM35 model that carries every processing stage except corner rounding. Running front to back, the KAM35SMART pre-mills the panel edge with two counter-rotating Ø80 mm cutters at 12000 rpm on 1.1 kW motors, applies adhesive from a heated glue tank set at the touch display, presses the tape with pressure rollers, cuts the tape ends with a 0.37 kW crosscut saw, trims the overhang top and bottom, radius-scrapes, sprays detergent and polishes — all in 2790 mm of machine length.

The R-scraper and spray unit are the practical additions

Two units distinguish the KAM35SMART from the KAM35ESV below it. The R-scraper works the top and bottom of the tape and can be switched in or out by the operator, which matters because a scraper set for radiused tape will mark flat 0.4 mm PVC; being able to disable it without stripping the unit down saves setup time on a shop running mixed tape. Ahead of the polishing unit, a spray unit applies detergent so the 0.18 kW polishing discs at 1400 rpm lift glue residue rather than smear it. Neither unit exists on the KAM35ESV, which finishes at the straight scraper.

The KAM35SMART handles edge tape 15–48 mm wide and 0.4–3 mm thick on panels 12–45 mm thick, minimum 70 mm long and 80 mm wide, at 8 m/min. Those last two figures set the boundary with the top model: the KAM35ALL takes 55 mm tape on panels up to 50 mm and adds a corner trimming unit. A shop banding standard 16–38 mm carcass board will not reach the KAM35SMART limits; a shop making thick worktops or rounded-corner fronts will.
