A power feeder bolts to a spindle moulder, circular saw or planer and drives the stock past the cutter at a set speed, so the feed rate never varies and the operator's hands stay clear of the tooling. This category holds 5 power feeders from HOLZMANN and NETMAK: three- and four-roller HOLZMANN heads with four or eight feed speeds, and NETMAK single-wheel and four-wheel units for template and straight work. Feeders are matched to the host machine and supplied by quotation.

How to choose a power feeder
Choose a power feeder by the shape of the work first and by feed speed second. Straight stock through a spindle moulder, a circular saw or a planer wants a multi-roller head that holds the board down and against the fence for the whole pass; curved work wants a single wheel that can follow a template instead of fighting the arc. All five feeders here do the same core job: the feeder drives the stock past the cutter at a constant rate, so the finish stops depending on how steadily the operator pushes, and hands never approach the tooling.
Roller count follows part length
Roller count is decided by part length. Three-roller heads cover most workshop runs, where the board is long enough that two rollers are always in contact: the HOLZMANN SF324N carries three 80 x 30 mm rollers, the HOLZMANN SF344N-8 three 120 x 60 mm rollers. Four-roller heads keep a longer stretch of board driven from entry to exit, which long mouldings and continuous through-feed need; the HOLZMANN SF444N-8 is 60 kg net in a 770 mm package against 56 kg and 560 mm for the SF344N-8, and the NETMAK ST-4 drives four 110 x 50 mm wheels at 80 kg. The NETMAK ST-1 exists for the opposite reason: one 110 x 50 mm wheel, 60 kg and 460 mm wide, so curved parts can ride a template.
Feed speed shows in the finish
Feed speed is the setting the surface will show. The HOLZMANN SF324N offers four speeds – 5, 5.6, 8 and 11 m/min – enough for straightforward moulding and ripping in one or two species. The eight-speed SF344N-8 and SF444N-8 span 3.5 to 34 m/min, so one head crawls through a deep hardwood profile and then runs ripped softwood out quickly. The NETMAK ST-1 and ST-4 are geared across four ranges from 4-6 m/min upward, the ST-1 reaching 20-30 m/min. A wide speed range earns its cost where species and profiles change often.
Power supply: three-phase, with one exception
Power supply narrows this page fast. The HOLZMANN SF324N is the only feeder catalogued in a 230 V version as well as 400 V, on a 260 W S6 (185 W S1) motor, which makes the SF324N the option for a small shop with no three-phase supply. The SF344N-8 and SF444N-8 are 400 V machines on a 1050 W S6 (750 W S1) drive, and the NETMAK ST-1 and ST-4 run a 1-1.15 HP motor. Confirm the voltage version in writing on the quotation.
Space, mounting and extraction
A power feeder takes no floor space of its own but changes the working envelope around the machine it sits on: infeed and outfeed clearance has to be measured for the longest board, not for the machine. Weight is carried by the column and the machine table – 35.78 kg for the SF324N, 56 kg and 60 kg for the HOLZMANN eight-speed heads, 60 kg and 80 kg for the NETMAK ST-1 and ST-4. Extraction remains the host machine’s responsibility, but a feeder turns intermittent cutting into continuous cutting, so size the extractor for a machine that now runs without pauses.
What to budget beyond the feeder
Budget the mounting arrangement and the wear parts alongside the feeder. Rubber rollers and wheels are consumable and harden with age; the host machine may need a base plate or drilling for the column; and the cutter block, saw blade or moulding tooling underneath is a separate line. Ask for mounting, spare rollers, delivery and installation to be itemised on the quotation.
როგორ ავირჩიოთ
- Three-roller head (SF324N, SF344N-8)
- Standard straight runs where the board is longer than the roller train; the lighter head loads the machine table and column less.
- Four-roller head (SF444N-8, ST-4)
- Long mouldings and continuous through-feed: four driven contacts keep the board under drive end to end, at 60 kg and 770 mm long, or 80 kg and 600 mm wide.
- Single wheel (NETMAK ST-1)
- Curved and shaped parts run against a template on a spindle moulder - one 110 x 50 mm wheel follows the arc where a wheel train would fight it.
- Four speeds vs eight speeds
- Four speeds of 5-11 m/min on the SF324N suit one or two species; 3.5-34 m/min on the SF344N-8 and SF444N-8 covers deep hardwood profiles and fast softwood ripping on one head.
- 260 W vs 1050 W drive
- The 260 W S6 SF324N is sized for light sections on a small moulder; the 1050 W S6 SF344N-8 and SF444N-8 push thick hardwood without dropping speed.
- 230 V availability
- Only the SF324N is catalogued in 230 V as well as 400 V. Every other feeder on this page assumes a three-phase supply is already in the shop.
- Head weight 35.78-80 kg
- The column and the host machine's table carry the whole head, so check the machine before choosing the 80 kg ST-4 over the 35.78 kg SF324N.
- Roller size 80 x 30 mm vs 120 x 60 mm
- Wider, larger rollers spread grip over more surface on rough or resinous timber; the 80 x 30 mm rollers of the SF324N suit small, clean sections.
