Cutting depth at 90 degrees is the first filter
Cutting depth decides what a circular saw can actually do, and this group spans 60 mm to 150 mm. The TS200 cuts 60 mm with a 200 mm blade at 4700 min-1, enough for boards and sheet material. The TK255 and TS250 both reach 80 mm from a 254 mm blade, the TS250 also giving 65 mm at 45 degrees. The TS400Z takes 120 mm at 90 degrees and 90 mm at 45 degrees on a 400 mm blade, and the TKS500S reaches 150 mm with a 500 mm blade at 2800 min-1. Construction timber and beams need the TS400Z or TKS500S; furniture stock does not.
Rip capacity is a separate question from depth
Rip capacity – the distance from blade to parallel fence – does not track cutting depth. The TS200 offers the widest rip in the bench group at 750 mm with its 600 mm extension fitted, ahead of the heavier TS250 at 710 mm, while the portable TK255 rips 650 mm from a table opening from 675 mm to 1040 mm. A workshop ripping wide boards should check rip capacity before it checks motor power.
Single-phase or three-phase
Supply voltage narrows the list quickly. The TS200 runs a 1500 W S6 motor from an ordinary 230 V socket and needs no three-phase installation at all. The TS250 is the only bench saw here offered on both supplies, as TS250_230V or TS250_400V with a 3100 W S6 motor. The TS400Z and TKS500S each carry a 4200 W S6 motor, and the TKS500S is specified on 400 V, so a three-phase supply is a precondition for the deep-cut end of the range.
A circular saw is not a panel saw
Circular saws here rip and crosscut solid timber well; they are not sliding-table panel saws, and cutting full melamine-faced sheets to cabinet accuracy needs a different machine. The exception in this group is the TS400Z, whose table rotates through 90 degrees while the blade tilts 0 to 45 degrees, so straight, mitre, bevel and compound cuts come from a single setup – a carpenter’s machine for framing and roof timber rather than a cabinet shop’s saw.
Space, support and extraction
Weight indicates class as much as footprint: 25 kg on the TK255, which one person carries to the job, 81 kg on the TS200, and 96 kg on the TKS500S, which rolls into position and gains a foldable 800 x 400 mm extension on its 1000 x 660 mm table. The space that matters is not the table but the run-off: allow the length of your longest workpiece in front of and behind the blade. Long stock should be carried rather than hand-balanced, which is what the TS400ZAL extension-arm set does, taking the working envelope to 3600 x 1400 x 1180 mm. Every one of these saws needs connection to a chip extractor sized for its port.
Blades and what drives the quotation
Blades are both a consumable and a performance decision. The KSB20028Z18 is a 200 mm tungsten-carbide-tipped blade with 18 teeth, a 2.8 mm kerf on a 1.6 mm plate and a 30 mm bore; the KSB50030Z44 is the large-format blade at 500 mm with 44 teeth, a 4.0 mm kerf on a 3.0 mm plate and the same 30 mm bore. Check diameter, bore and kerf against your machine before ordering. On the saws themselves the quotation is driven by capacity, chosen supply voltage, table extensions and support accessories, the blade package, delivery to your site in Georgia and installation.
