What a calibrating sander is for

A calibrating sander sets thickness and finish in one operation. Once a solid-wood panel has been glued up, the joints sit slightly proud, the boards are never perfectly level, and a thicknesser leaves knife marks and risks tear-out on reversing grain. Capacity: what the R455B will and will not take

A calibrating sander does not replace a thicknesser.
