Sanding Discs and Sleeves for Holzmann Disc Sanders
Sanding discs are the abrasive that goes on the rotating table of a disc or combination sander - the part you replace, as opposed to the cast disc itself, which you do not. We stock 75 sanding disc SKUs for Holzmann machines in diameters 126, 150, 203, 230, 250, 300 and 305 mm, in grits K60, K80, K100, K120 and K150, in both self-adhesive (ST) and hook-and-loop (STK) versions, plus the hook-and-loop backing pads that convert a plain cast disc to a quick-change system. Mixed sets of 1 x K60, 3 x K80, 3 x K100 and 3 x K120 are available in most diameters.

How to choose a sanding disc
Three decisions cover the whole range: the diameter, which your machine fixes; the attachment method, self-adhesive or hook-and-loop; and the grit, which the job fixes.
Diameter comes from the machine
Diameters stocked are 126 mm, 150 mm, 203 mm, 230 mm, 250 mm, 300 mm and 305 mm. The part number states it: ST203 and STK203 are 203 mm discs as fitted to the BT203-914, STK75 discs are the 126 mm size for the BT75, and the STTSM250 and STKTSM250 codes are the 250 mm discs for the TSM250 disc sander. Measure the cast disc across its face if you are unsure – a disc that overhangs will catch the table or the guard, and one that is undersized leaves an unsupported abrasive edge that tears on the first workpiece.
Self-adhesive or hook-and-loop?
Self-adhesive discs (the ST codes) are pressed straight onto the clean cast face. They cost less per disc and hold flat, but they are effectively single-use: removing one means scraping and cleaning off the old adhesive before the next goes on. Hook-and-loop discs (the STK codes) need a backing pad fitted once, after which discs change in seconds and part-worn discs go back in the drawer for re-use. If you change grit several times a day, hook-and-loop pays back quickly; if the machine lives on one grit for weeks, self-adhesive is the cheaper way to run it.
The backing pad (AUF codes)
The AUF part numbers – STK203AUF, STK75AUF, STKT150AUF, STKT230AUF, STKT305AUF, STKTSM250AUF – are the hook-and-loop carrier pads, not abrasive. The pad bonds to the machine’s cast disc and provides the loop face the discs grip. You buy one per machine, it lasts for years, and it must match the disc diameter. Ordering hook-and-loop discs without the pad is the single most common mistake on this category, so check whether your machine already has one fitted.
Grit and the sanding sequence
Discs are stocked in K60, K80, K100, K120 and K150. On a disc sander most of the work is dimensioning and squaring end grain, so K80 and K100 do the bulk of it; K60 is for fast removal on softwood and for shaping, K120-K150 for cleaning up before finishing. A disc cuts faster at its rim than at its centre, so work on the down-running side of the disc and move the piece outward as the abrasive dulls.

What moves the price
Disc price is driven by diameter, by grit, by self-adhesive versus hook-and-loop backing, by singles versus a 10-piece mixed set, and by quantity – plus the one-off cost of a backing pad if the machine does not have one, and delivery. How do I work out which sanding disc diameter fits the disc sander I already own?
Measure the cast disc across its face: the sanding disc must match that diameter exactly, and our range covers 126, 150, 203, 230, 250, 300 and 305 mm. The part numbers state it too - STK75 discs are the 126 mm size for the BT75, ST203 discs are 203 mm as on the BT203-914, and STTSM250 discs are the 250 mm size for the TSM250. If you are not sure, send the machine model and serial number and we will confirm the sanding disc before you order.
What is the difference between ST and STK sanding discs?
ST sanding discs are self-adhesive and stick directly to the clean cast disc, while STK sanding discs are hook-and-loop and grip a backing pad fitted to that disc. Self-adhesive discs cost less per piece but are effectively single-use because the adhesive has to be scraped off. Hook-and-loop discs change in seconds and can be taken off and re-used, which is why shops that switch grits several times a day prefer them.
Do I need a backing pad with hook-and-loop sanding discs?
Yes - hook-and-loop sanding discs will not hold on a bare cast disc. The AUF part numbers (STK75AUF, STK203AUF, STKT150AUF, STKT230AUF, STKT305AUF, STKTSM250AUF) are the backing pads that bond to the machine's disc and provide the loop face. You need one per machine, matched to the disc diameter, and it lasts for years. Tell us whether your machine already has a pad fitted and we will include it only if it is missing.
Which grit sanding disc should I use?
On a disc sander the useful sanding disc grits are K60 for shaping and fast removal, K80 to K100 for the bulk of squaring and dimensioning work, and K120 to K150 for cleaning up before finishing. Our discs are stocked in K60, K80, K100, K120 and K150, and mixed sets of 1 x K60, 3 x K80, 3 x K100 and 3 x K120 are available in most diameters if you want to cover the whole sequence in one order.
Do you also supply sleeves for oscillating spindle sanders?
Yes. Abrasive sleeves are a different wear part from sanding discs, and sleeve sets for the OSS200 oscillating spindle sander are stocked in K120, K180 and K240. They are listed alongside our sanding belt range. Tell us the spindle diameters you use and we will quote the sleeves together with your disc order.
How do I order sanding discs and what is the lead time?
Send us the machine model, the disc diameter, the backing type (self-adhesive or hook-and-loop) and the grits and quantities, and we will issue a written quotation for the sanding discs including delivery. The common diameters and grits are normally held in stock in Georgia; less common sizes and backing pads are brought in and usually arrive within a few weeks, with the exact lead time confirmed per line on the quotation.
