Carriage length is the first decision

Carriage travel decides what a sliding table saw can trim in one pass, so fix that figure before blade size or control level. Below 2000 mm – the HOLZMANN TS250FL at 1320 mm, TS250F at 1650 mm, TS250F1600 and TS315F1600 at 1600 mm, FKS305V16TOP at 1600 mm and the MIZRAK MZK 1500 PRESTIJ – the saw sizes doors, cabinet parts and pre-cut board in a shop that is already full. Between 2000 and 2800 mm, the TS315VF2000, TS315VF2600, MZK 2200 PRESTIJ, MZK 2800 PRESTIJ and MZK 2800 Diamond handle half sheets and long rips on a modest floor. At 3200 mm a standard sheet goes past the blade lengthwise in one uninterrupted pass, which is what the FKS305V32ECO, FKS305V32TOP, FKS400V32TOP, FKS400V32SMART, FKS400V32PRO, TS315VF3200 and the 3200 mm MIZRAK PRESTIJ, SPECIAL, Diamond, Diamond S, Diamond SX and Concord models are for. The 3800 mm MIZRAK saws take oversize sheets and door leaves, and the MZK 3800 PRESTIJ and MZK 3800 Concord add a profile support carriage for long narrow work.

Blade diameter, cutting height and the scoring unit

Blade diameter sets cutting height. The 250 to 254 mm HOLZMANN machines cut 80 mm at 90 degrees, the 315 mm machines cut 85 mm on the TS315F1600 and 100 mm on the TS315VF2600, every MIZRAK saw here cuts 80 mm at 90 degrees, and 400 mm blade capacity on the FKS400 family gives 130 mm of cutting height. A scoring unit – 0.75 kW on the MIZRAK saws and 750 W on the FKS305 models – cuts the lower face of a melamine or veneered panel a fraction ahead of the main blade, so any workshop sizing faced board should treat scoring as required rather than optional.

Manual, motorised or PLC setting

Setting method separates otherwise similar saws. The MIZRAK PRESTIJ line is hand-set throughout; the SPECIAL and Diamond S add motorised 45-90 degree tilt and motorised blade rise; the Diamond SX adds PLC control with a servo linear cast-iron rear stop; and the Concord pairs a 5.5 kW main saw with automatic tilt, pneumatic panel hold-down and a digital cast-iron fence. On the HOLZMANN side the FKS400V32TOP sets tilt by hand while raising blade and scorer electrically, the FKS400V32SMART positions rip fence, height and 0-45 degree tilt from a display, and the FKS400V32PRO adds motorised rip-fence positioning keyed in as a number.

Power supply, floor space, extraction and blades

Most sliding table saws here are 400 V three-phase machines, including the FKS305V32ECO and the FKS400 family. Two models answer a shop with no three-phase connection: the TS315F1600 is offered in a 230 V single-phase and a 400 V three-phase version, and the TS315VF2600 is the one scoring sliding table saw on this page that can be ordered as 230 V single-phase. Floor space is roughly twice the carriage length along the line of cut plus the width of the outrigger table, so a 3200 mm saw wants a clear run of about six and a half metres. Extraction connects at the blade hood and the lower cabinet. Blades are usually a separate line on the quotation: the FKS400V32TOP is the one FKS supplied with a main blade and scorer, and the TS250F arrives with a 254 x 30 x 3.0 mm 36-tooth blade, edging shoe and push stick. Carriage length, control level, blade set, extraction, delivery and installation are the figures that move the final price.
