ZFS600 — HOLZMANN ZFS600 Dovetail Jointing Jig (600 mm)

HOLZMANN ZFS600 Dovetail Jointing Jig (600 mm)

ZFS600

Unlike the ZFS600_F template and cutter items sold beside it, the ZFS600 is the jig body itself: a 740 x 280 x 150 mm dovetailing fixture that guides your router across stock 6 to 32 mm thick and up to 600 mm long. It weighs 13.9 kg net, is drilled for bolting to a bench, and ships with a 1/2 inch template and cutter.

Price is set by quantity and by how many extra templates and cutters - the ZFS600_F1/2, F7/16 and F9/16 articles - go on the same order, plus the freight and customs share of the consignment.

What the HOLZMANN ZFS600 does

The HOLZMANN ZFS600 turns a hand router into a dovetail-joint machine. The ZFS600 is a clamping template rather than a powered machine: the workpiece is clamped into the jig, the finger template is set over it, and the router follows the template to cut matching pins and tails. The ZFS600 accepts workpieces up to 600 mm long and material between 6 mm and 32 mm thick, which covers drawer sides, small carcase corners, box work and jewellery-box scale joinery. Because the template controls the cut, the ZFS600 repeats the same joint across a batch instead of relying on hand marking and chisel work.

Who the ZFS600 suits

The ZFS600 suits Georgian furniture workshops and joineries that already own a hand router and want repeatable dovetails without investing in a dedicated dovetailing machine. The jig is drilled for mounting on a worktop, so the ZFS600 can be bolted permanently to a bench for production runs or unbolted and stored between jobs. At 13.9 kg net the ZFS600 has enough mass to stay put under routing pressure, but it is still a two-hand lift for one person.

How the ZFS600 differs from the separate ZFS600 templates

The ZFS600 is the complete base jig and is supplied with one 1/2″ template and one 1/2″ dovetail cutter, so it cuts joints straight out of the box. The separate HOLZMANN items in the same range – ZFS600_F1/2, ZFS600_F7/16 and ZFS600_F9/16 – are templates and cutters, not machines: they change the finger pattern and cutter size on the jig you already own. Buy the ZFS600 first, then add templates as the joint sizes in the workshop change.

Delivery and set-up

Delivery of the ZFS600 includes the jig itself, a 1/2″ template and a 1/2″ dovetail cutter. The ZFS600 is shipped at 15.3 kg gross and needs only a flat worktop and a router with a guide bush to be put to work; no electrical connection, compressed air or extraction hook-up is required by the jig itself.

ძირითადი მახასიათებლები

  • 600 mm maximum workpiece length - the jig's working capacity, and the number in the model name
  • Stock thickness range 6 mm to 32 mm; anything outside that will not clamp correctly
  • The complete jig body, as distinct from the ZFS600_F1/2, F7/16 and F9/16 items, which are templates and cutters only
  • Delivered with one 1/2 inch template and a matching 1/2 inch dovetail cutter
  • 740 x 280 x 150 mm overall - allow bench width for the jig plus router travel each side
  • Pre-drilled for bolting down; 13.9 kg net holds it steady for occasional work unbolted
  • Unpowered - no motor, no mains connection, no voltage decision to make
  • Works with any hand router taking a guide bush and the supplied 1/2 inch cutter shank

უპირატესობები

  • Repeatable dovetail joints from a router you already own, with no separate dovetailing machine required
  • Complete out of the box: 1/2" template and 1/2" dovetail cutter included
  • 13.9 kg body with worktop mounting holes stays stable during routing

გასათვალისწინებელი

  • No router is included, so the ZFS600 is only half the tooling
  • Thickness capacity stops at 32 mm, which rules out heavy door and frame stock
  • At 13.9 kg the jig is heavy to move around a small workshop and really wants a permanent bench position

Does the HOLZMANN ZFS600 need a 230V or a 400V supply?
The HOLZMANN ZFS600 needs neither, because the ZFS600 is a mechanical jig with no motor and no mains connection. The power comes from the hand router you clamp over the template, so the only electrical decision is the router itself - HOLZMANN hand routers such as the OBF1200 run on 230V single-phase, and no 400V three-phase supply is involved anywhere in the ZFS600 set-up.
What does the HOLZMANN ZFS600 not do?
The HOLZMANN ZFS600 does not cut anything on its own and no router is included in delivery. The ZFS600 does not plane, thickness or square your stock beforehand, does not accept material thinner than 6 mm or thicker than 32 mm, and does not produce finger or box joints unless the corresponding HOLZMANN template is fitted.
What is included with the HOLZMANN ZFS600?
The HOLZMANN ZFS600 is delivered with the jig body, a 1/2" template and a 1/2" dovetail cutter. Additional HOLZMANN templates and cutters, including the ZFS600_F1/2, ZFS600_F7/16 and ZFS600_F9/16 items, are available separately for the ZFS600.
What size of workpiece fits in the HOLZMANN ZFS600?
The HOLZMANN ZFS600 takes workpieces up to 600 mm long with a thickness between 6 mm and 32 mm. The ZFS600 itself measures 740 x 280 x 150 mm overall, so allow bench space for the jig plus router travel on either side.
Does the HOLZMANN ZFS600 have to be bolted down?
The HOLZMANN ZFS600 is supplied with mounting holes so it can be bolted to a worktop, and bolting down is recommended for repeat production. For occasional work the 13.9 kg net weight of the ZFS600 is usually enough to hold the jig steady on a clean bench top.
Which router should be used with the HOLZMANN ZFS600?
The HOLZMANN ZFS600 works with any hand router that accepts a guide bush and the supplied 1/2" dovetail cutter. In the HOLZMANN range the OBF1200 hand router, with 1200 W and 6 and 8 mm collets, is the usual partner machine for the ZFS600, provided the cutter shank matches the collet fitted.
What drives the cost of a HOLZMANN ZFS600 dovetail jig?
The ZFS600 is priced as tooling rather than as a capital machine. The main variables are quantity, whether the additional ZFS600_F1/2, F7/16 and F9/16 templates and cutters are added to the order, and the freight and customs share. A ZFS600 bought together with a router carries less transport cost per item than one shipped alone.
How long does a ZFS600 take to arrive?
The ZFS600 is supplied to order and the delivery date is confirmed in writing with the quotation. We do not publish a standing lead time for the ZFS600, because it depends on when the consignment carrying it consolidates.
Is any installation needed for the ZFS600?
Installation of the ZFS600 amounts to bolting it to a worktop through the holes already provided, or clamping it for occasional use. There is no power connection, no extraction duct and no levelling, because the ZFS600 has no motor - the router you already own supplies the cut.
What has to be budgeted separately with a ZFS600?
A hand router is the main separate item, since none is supplied with the ZFS600 - in the HOLZMANN range the OBF1200 with 6 and 8 mm collets is the usual partner. Budget additional templates and cutters if you need dovetail spacings other than the 1/2 inch pair included with the ZFS600, plus a spare cutter, since a chipped dovetail cutter stops the jig.
