HOLZMANN D460F Variable-Speed Wood Lathe
D460F
Speed on the D460F is stepless within three mechanical ranges — 650-1450, 1250-2800 and 1600-3800 min-1 — so a blank can be brought up to cutting speed without stopping to move a belt. Capacity is unchanged from the stepped D460: 460 mm between centres, 130 mm centre height, 55 mm of quill travel.
The delivered price of the D460F is moved by the turning tool set specified, the M33 DIN 800 chuck package, MT2 centres and drill chuck, whether a stand or heavy bench is included, and delivery within Georgia.
ფასის მოთხოვნაWhy the HOLZMANN D460F reads differently to the D460
The HOLZMANN D460F is the variable-speed member of the same 460 mm lathe family: the same 460 mm between centres, the same 130 mm centre height and the same 600 W S6 / 400 W S1 motor on 230 V, but with electronic speed control across three mechanical ranges of 650-1450, 1250-2800 and 1600-3800 rpm. The top figure is the one that matters. The D460F reaches 3800 rpm where the stepped-pulley D460 stops at 2800 rpm, and that gap is the difference between an acceptable and a clean finish on small-diameter work such as pens, handles and finials.
Speed control in practice
Working with the D460F means setting the belt into one of three ranges and then dialling the exact speed without stopping the machine. For a turner who roughs a blank, refines it and then sands it, the D460F removes several belt changes from every workpiece. The trade-off is the familiar one for electronic drives: torque at the very bottom of a range is softer than a direct belt step would give, so heavy roughing of large unbalanced blanks is best started in the lowest range.
Build and tooling interfaces
Construction of the D460F follows the same pattern as the rest of the range: grey cast iron bed, headstock, tailstock and tool rest, POLY-V belt drive for quiet running, and rubber feet. The D460F headstock spindle is M33 DIN 800 and the tailstock is MT2 with 55 mm quill travel and a quick lock, so standard M33 chucks, MT2 centres and MT2 drill chucks all fit. A 300 mm extended tool rest with quick lock and a 145 mm diameter face plate are specified.
Footprint and handling
At 34 kg net and 36 kg gross, the D460F is a bench-mounted machine shipped in an 880 x 460 x 330 mm carton. No three-phase supply, no extraction connection and no foundation work are needed to put the D460F into service, which keeps commissioning cost close to zero.

უპირატესობები
- Variable speed to 3800 rpm gives a cleaner finish on small-diameter work than the D460 at 2800 rpm
- Speed changes without stopping the machine save several belt moves per workpiece
- Same grey cast iron construction and standard M33 / MT2 interfaces as the rest of the range
გასათვალისწინებელი
- Torque at the bottom of an electronic speed range is softer than a direct belt step, so heavy roughing should start in the lowest range
- 34 kg net is light for large unbalanced blanks - a heavy bench or stand is effectively mandatory
- HOLZMANN publishes no accessory list for the D460F, so chucks, centres and turning tools must be quoted separately
