NETMAK KA 500 Thicknesser

KA 500 Kalınlık Makinası

One hundred millimetres of extra width and a larger motor separate the NETMAK KA 500 from the KA 400: 500 mm capacity on a 520 x 890 mm table with a 5.5 kW (7.5 HP) cutter drive. The KA 500 thicknesses stock up to 250 mm, removes 8 mm per pass at 4500 rpm and weighs 740 kg.

ფასი მოთხოვნით

What moves the KA 500 price is the cutterhead specified (four-knife or optional helical), whether motorised table lift and the digital height indicator are added rather than the manual-table build, and delivery, offloading and installation.

What the KA 500 does

The KA 500 planes the upper face of a board parallel to the face resting on its table, bringing a whole batch of timber to one exact thickness. Capacity is 500 mm wide by 250 mm thick, with up to 8 mm removed in a single pass by a four-knife cutterhead spinning at 4500 rpm behind a 5.5 kW motor. A polyurethane feed roller draws stock across the 520 x 890 mm table at 7 or 14 m/min, and the choice between those two rates is a real production decision: 7 m/min for oak, ash and anything with awkward grain, 14 m/min when softwood volume is the priority.

Who the KA 500 suits

The KA 500 is aimed at workshops that regularly dimension wide solid stock — table tops, glued panels, wide door components, worktop blanks and staircase treads. The 500 mm capacity is what buys that: it covers the width at which many furniture and joinery shops otherwise have to rip a panel, plane it in two halves and rejoin it. At 740 kg the KA 500 is heavy enough to stay settled through the deepest cuts it is rated for.

How the KA 500 compares with the KA 400

The KA 500 is the wider and stronger of NETMAK’s two mid-size thicknessers. Compared with the KA 400, the KA 500 gains 100 mm of planing width (500 mm against 400 mm), 1.5 kW of cutter motor (5.5 kW against 4 kW), a larger 520 x 890 mm table and a stronger 0.8-1.22 HP feed drive, at the cost of 120 kg more weight and a 900 x 1100 mm footprint against 800 x 1000 mm. Maximum thickness of 250 mm, 8 mm chip depth, four knives, 4500 rpm and the 7-14 m/min feed range are the same on both machines.

What is standard and what is optional

Standard on the KA 500 are the monobloc steel body, a guard-cover safety interlock circuit, an electromechanical brake and the polyurethane feed roller. NETMAK lists motorised automatic table height adjustment, a digital height indicator and a helical cutterhead as optional on the KA 500. Manual-table versions of the KA 500 do not carry the 0.25 HP table motor and their net weight differs from the quoted 740 kg.

უპირატესობები

  • 500 mm width covers glued panels and table tops that a 400 mm machine forces you to split
  • 5.5 kW motor with 8 mm maximum cut clears rough-sawn stock in fewer passes
  • Optional helical cutterhead available from the factory for figured timber and quieter running

გასათვალისწინებელი

  • 740 kg over a 900 x 1100 mm footprint needs a solid slab and mechanical handling at delivery
  • Digital readout and powered table lift are options, not standard, so a base machine is set by hand
  • Cutter diameter is not published for the KA 500, and no dust extractor or supply voltage is specified

What power supply does the KA 500 need?
The KA 500 has a 5.5 kW / 7.5 HP cutter motor, a 0.8-1.22 HP feed motor and, on powered-table versions, a 0.25 HP table motor. Supply voltage and phase are not published by NETMAK for the KA 500, and a 5.5 kW cutter motor is an industrial three-phase item in practice, so confirm the supply available in your workshop with us before ordering.
How wide and thick a board will the KA 500 plane?
The KA 500 handles stock up to 500 mm wide and 250 mm thick, taking a maximum of 8 mm per pass. That 500 mm width is the KA 500's main advantage over the 400 mm KA 400, and it covers most glued panels and table tops without ripping and rejoining.
What is the difference between the KA 500 and the KA 400?
The KA 500 planes 100 mm wider than the KA 400 (500 mm against 400 mm) and carries a 5.5 kW cutter motor against 4 kW, a 520 x 890 mm table against 420 x 790 mm, and 740 kg against 620 kg. Thickness capacity of 250 mm, 8 mm chip depth, four knives, 4500 rpm and the 7-14 m/min feed are identical on the KA 500 and the KA 400.
Does the KA 500 come with a digital thickness display?
Not as standard. NETMAK lists the digital height indicator, motorised automatic table height adjustment and helical cutterhead as optional features on the KA 500. On manual-table versions of the KA 500 the 0.25 HP table motor is not fitted and net weight differs from the quoted 740 kg, so the configuration must be confirmed at order.
Can the KA 500 replace a surface planer?
No. The KA 500 is a thicknesser and works from an existing flat reference face, so a bowed or twisted board must be flattened on a surface planer before it goes through the KA 500. The KA 500 will faithfully reproduce a twist rather than remove it.
What does the KA 500 need in the way of extraction and delivery access?
The KA 500 requires a separate dust extraction unit, which is not included and whose port sizes are not published, plus a floor able to carry 740 kg over a 900 x 1100 mm footprint. Because of that weight, plan for forklift or pallet-truck access at delivery and clear infeed and outfeed room for the longest boards you plane.
How much does the NETMAK KA 500 cost?
The NETMAK KA 500 thicknesser is priced on quotation, not sold at a fixed online price. The main variables in a KA 500 quotation are the cutterhead (standard four-knife or optional helical block), whether the machine is specified with motorised table height adjustment and a digital height indicator or as the manual-table version, and delivery, offloading and installation in Georgia. Tell us the widest stock you plane and a KA 500 quotation follows.
Is the NETMAK KA 500 in stock, and how long does delivery take?
The NETMAK KA 500 is a built-to-order machine, so availability and the current lead time for the KA 500 are confirmed when the quotation is issued. A KA 500 in the standard four-knife, manual-table build is the standard build.; helical cutterhead and motorised-lift specifications are scheduled as a build. Request current KA 500 availability with your enquiry.
What does commissioning a KA 500 involve?
Commissioning a KA 500 involves siting 740 kg on a level, load-bearing floor within a 900 x 1100 mm footprint with run-out space at both ends, levelling the machine, connecting a three-phase supply through a qualified electrician, and connecting extraction to a chip collector able to handle a full 500 mm cut. NETMAK does not publish the KA 500's supply voltage, phase or extraction port sizes, so these are settled at quotation, and delivery and commissioning can be quoted with the machine.
What consumables should be budgeted with a KA 500?
Alongside the KA 500 itself, budget for a spare set of knives for the four-knife cutterhead (or replacement inserts if the optional helical block is taken), knife-setting gear, and a chip extractor with ducting, as no extraction unit is included with the KA 500. Polyurethane feed rollers and brake parts are wear items on the KA 500 and are worth quoting as an initial spares package.
