The FS300 is specified when a shaper has to run all day on hardwood. The FS300 puts 3000 W continuous (4000 W S6) through a Ø30 mm spindle with 130 mm of stroke and 140 mm maximum clamping height, on a machine weighing 280 kg net — mass that matters, because a spindle moulder’s finish quality is largely a question of how little the frame moves. Maximum tool diameter on the FS300 is 200 mm above the table and 175 mm milling diameter overall.
Tilting spindle and fence control
The FS300 tilts its spindle from -5° through 0° to 45° on a handwheel, and the negative five degrees is the detail that distinguishes the FS300 from lighter shapers: it allows the cutter to lean slightly away from the fence for undercut profiles and for fine correction of a moulding that runs tight. The FS300 carries a high-quality hood with a down holder and fine adjustment of the fence, so pressure and dimension are set by hand and held mechanically. Speeds on the FS300 are 1400, 3500, 6000 and 8000 rpm.

Plan the FS300 as fixed plant with room around it. The FS300 has a 1000 x 350 mm main table at 890 mm height, a 1000 x 310 mm sliding table and a generous 450 x 160 mm mitre fence usable left and right, with a 178 mm table opening. The FS300 measures 2155 x 990 x 1430 mm without the sliding table and 2155 x 2400 (+1150) x 1430 mm with it. The FS300 is a 400 V three-phase machine only, extracts through a Ø100 mm port drawing from below the sliding table, and is rated at 96.8 dB(A) sound power.
Choosing between the FS300 and the FS200SF
Take the FS300 when tooling is large or the duty is continuous. The FS200SF covers 180 mm tools, 100 mm stroke and a 230 V option; the FS300 raises that to 200 mm tools, 130 mm stroke and 140 mm clamping height, and is quoted only with a three-phase supply.
