At 8 m/min the HOB260NL moves timber through the thicknesser faster than the ECO-series machines of the same size, which matters when a joiner is dimensioning a batch of small components rather than occasional one-off pieces. The HOB260NL handles workpieces up to 185 mm thick, takes 3 mm per pass in both planing and thicknessing, and does it on a 150 kg net frame that a small workshop can actually accommodate.
Construction and changeover
Cast iron and a cabinet base are what keep the HOB260NL steady at this weight class. The grey cast iron planing tables of the HOB260NL pivot sideways together, uncovering the 600 x 185 mm thicknessing table without dismantling anything, and the solid cabinet base unit adds stability that an open-legged stand cannot. The infeed mechanism can be switched off for surface planing so the feed rollers are stationary while the operator works over the block. A Ø 75 mm three-knife cutterblock runs at 4000 min-1 behind an adjustable aluminium fence measuring 720 x 135 mm, tiltable from 90° to 45°.
