How the HOB410ECO works day to day
Changeover is where the HOB410ECO is genuinely well designed. The entire planer table of the HOB410ECO folds up as one unit rather than pivoting in two halves, so moving from surface planing to thicknessing takes seconds and the tables are completely out of the way. Underneath, the thicknessing table has a smooth central height adjustment with a counter, so an operator can return the HOB410ECO to a previous thickness setting exactly instead of creeping up on it. The block runs at 5500 min-1 — a high speed for the class, which compensates in surface finish for having three knives rather than four.
Knives and consumables
Straight knives keep the running cost of the HOB410ECO low. Three planer knives are supplied fitted, along with a knife setting gauge, mounting tool and sliding wood, so the shop can re-knife the HOB410ECO without buying anything extra on day one.
